Astrill VPN Client App Reviews

My app was not working at all so deleted it and reinstalled it. Now it works. Inconvenient but not life altering. Hope this helps others. Update: I had to reinstall when I got a new phone but it wouldnt connect. After messaging their support, they gave me directions to fix the problem. It worked. Problem solved.

I purchased this VPN mainly for China use and it is almost worthless and sometimes worse than worthless since it prevents me from connecting to internet altogether. More than half the time if you have VPN on, my system will not connect to internet at all. I have to turn it off to connect to internet which is extremely inconvenient. I needed it for Gmail and it only works 50% of the time even after restarting multiple times to connect to internet.

And its been always smoothly working well for me, a ppl in China.

For years I have been using astrill to connect with the world outside pf China. Thank you for your help!

Ive only had this app for a few days and I have been regretting not going back to Express. Setting things is technically challenging (I had to get a computer engineer friend to help me set things up on my router), customer service is lackluster and they have no recourse if you want your refund. I wish Apple would pull this wretched app from their store!

After iOS 11, Astril can’t connect to the WiFi and starts to use the 4G data.

On PC it works, iOS Apps do t work.

yeah, good, works great in china huh? but i installed the app, created a login and says subscription expired. then tap on extend and never goes further... how can i use it?

I have been living in Shanghai for 6 years and astrill has been consistently reliable. Im able to use Netflix, Facebook, YouTube etc. without any problems. Ive also been impressed by astrills customer service. Overall, Id highly recommend astrill if you are in need of a VPN.

I cant recommend these guys enough, their support is top notch and the range of options provided with even the most basic connection is awesome. Lots of servers to choose from and they rate quite decently among other VPNs (according to thatoneprivacyguy/thatoneprivacysite)

I pay so much for my account on this VPN every year and it just seems to get worse and worse. I recently put it on my new iPhone and it won’t stay connected for longer than 20 minutes...might be time to look at new VPN providers.

Disconnect every few minutes, I can not use it! Waste my time and money, please fix it!!!

For the ease of use, server speed and overall experience this is hands down the best VPN for China. All VPNs will fail at some point if you are using it in China. It will happen to Astrill too. But the thing is Astrill will tell you what is going on through a message, and COME BACK alive! But I do think the iOS app needs a app control system. Sort of like a upgraded version of the smart mode: only certain apps like Gmail, Twitter and Instagram go through Astrill. Then this really will be the best VPN. Come on Astrill you haven’t updated the iOS app in a year! Do this for us! And I wouldn’t mind if Astrill gives me lifetime membership for this very strong review!

Used to be the best. Currently the worst. Dont you dare signing for a year contract. Not worth it at all. No refund policies. Runaway !

It just doesnt work at least for the last 4 months! Wasted money. Go Betternet for free and much better

I paid a one year subscription and I am just unable to get it work. It just sucks.

Astrill does not work anymore. After contacting customer service several times, saying I paid 100$ for the year for a service that is not provided anymore, I got the answer that astrill cannot do anything. Then no reason to pay additional money for this amateur company. I feel bad that I gave this much money to incompetent people.
