Astrill VPN Client App Reviews

Tried plenty others, this is the one that always works, been using it for over 5 years in China. Yes it has problems but they always fix it really quickly, never gone over 24 hours. I use it both on my laptop as well as my iPhone.

Im completely satisfied with Astrill..Im customers from 2014 into now..this app help me to build my own projects In the past i tried many apps but when I used astrill found them the appropriate and its developers was great I recommend them

Astrill worked great when I was in Beijing, but on my new iPhone 8 here in Guangzhou, it’s disappointing. The app struggles to stay connected, it is spotty with 4G usage, I have to turn it off to use certain Chinese sites, it causes other functions on my phone to freeze, etc.

Compared to the Android version, this version is quite bad. Even though the interface is simple and only requires the tap of a button, the vpn often doesn’t work. I tap the off button to turn it on, and it just slides back to off. I have confirmed the problem isn’t in my internet connection, and is certainly a bug in the Astrill app

Using it for YEARS, always works!

No update, no iPhone X support yet. In China, Astrill works, but not really properly. It could be difficult to connect, or the connection goes suddenly off after a few minutes, usually after switching apps.

After 3 years of use, I think the Astrill is very stable in China, but you have to run a speedtest before use.

I have used Astrill for 3 years and it has been working great.

Looks like this is an iPhone X-only issue as Astrill still works great on all my other iDevices regardless of iOS versions. The auto-reconnect function doesn’t seem to work upon a broken connection (expect for the very rare occasions when the network happens to switch between 4G and Wi-Fi, which might trigger a reconnect).

Astrill app is good but since updating iOS to 10.3.2 have having issues with connecting to vpn. App needs to be updated to work with latest software version of iOS.

I’ve just made my purchase of a one year plan through Apple Store and discovered my plan does not work on pc. I contacted the Astrill Support team immediately and I was told only if I were to purchase from their website, they would allow me to use my plan on both PC and iOS system. Unfortunately this information was not written anywhere their app. I asked for a refund or an exchange, and they ended the chat.

Ive used it for years and its the only choice in PRC except ExpressVPN. But guys you really need to add long/hard press on the icon in the regular menu to have option to turn on and off without having to open the app. Many apps have this like WeChat, I can long press then some options come up like directly to payment qr code. So let me turn it on and off via that long press, because one really needs to turn it on and off all day long depending on which apps we need to use. Thx.

When the app is open (app, not vpn) it will drain you battery in a matter of minutes. It is consistently using most of my battery if I dont force quit.

I have been using this app for 5 years mostly because everyone else here uses it. It stops working for months at a time. Their customer service is nonexistent. All they do is give u links to YouTube videos.

And sometimes it doesnt. Luckily most of the time it works great.

while the app does occasionally malfunction, it works pretty well. i recommend it to friends in China.

I love this app and it seems to work fine on my iPad and my computer, but it keeps freezing on my iPhone. Its spends and spends and I cant even log out or close it. I have not been able to use it for several days on my iPhone. Same thing on my husbands android. I see the app hasnt been updated in a year. Please fix!
